Crown Trifari – Tortoiseshell & Chrome Necklace –

An impressive vintage costume jewellery choker necklace by Crown Trifari. It has a choker style necklace of faux tortoisesell beads and chrome spacers suspending a large circular tortoiseshell and chrome jewel.

Most likely dating to the mid 1970’s and possibly designed by Kunio Matsumoto.

Rosenthal – Princess & Frog by Leo Rauth

A charming original period Rosenthal porcelain figurine of the “Princess and Frog” designed by Leopold Rauth (1884-1913). The princess is reclined on an oval plinth looking down in curiosity at a small green frog.

Fully marked on the underside with a moulded model number K233 together with the painters monogram KWR and printed factory mark for pre 1920.

OWL – Bing & Grondahl – Model 1500

An impressive and very large model of a Snowy Owl modelled by Dahl Jensen for Bing & Grondahl, Copenhagen, Denmark. It has quality life like modelling with feathers talons beak and eyes in detail. Mainly white with coloured detils. Printed and painted marks on the underside dating this example to the early 1970’s.

Signed on the underside “Dahl Jensen” for the Danish artist scultptor Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen (1874-1960).

Bing & Grondahl – Polar Bear Model 1857

An impressive large scale porcelain model of a Polar Bear made by Bing & Grondahl, Copenhagen, Denmark and designed by artist sculptor; Knud Kyhn (1880-1969).

Mainly white with hand painted coloured detail on the face and feet.

Fishel & Nessler – Green Intaglio Necklace – 1920’s

A stunning original period Belle Epoque costume jewellery necklace dating to c1920 decorated with an emerals green intaglio cut glass jewel surrounded by gilt leaves with large green stone drop and suspended from a doudle flat chain interspersed with small green gems.

Made by American jewellers, Fishel Nessler & Co of Fifth Avenue, New York. Marked F.N.Co on the inside of the clasp

A striking statement Egyptian revivl design pair of clip earrings from the “Elizabeth Taylor by Avon” collection of costume jewellery. It has a thick gold finish and decorated with blue and turquoise stone and turquoise enamel with three gold drops.

Pristine condition and fully marked on the back.

Kenneth J Lane – Pearl Necklace –

A double string of four colour pearls in pastel shade hung from gilt mounts by the American designer Kenneth Jay Lane. Uniform sized pearls which can be worn either straight or twisted for a rope effect.

Signed with the K.J.L trademark.

Raymond Hughes – Watercolour – Promenade Dress With Spencer c1816

This a original waterclour study of a dress design titled “Promenade Dress With Spencer c1816 (English)” by Raymond Hughes (d2015). It is a large scale brightly coloured painting in watercolour with white body colour highlights of a flamboyant period ball gown. From a series of 4 that we have for sale.

Raymond Hughes (d2015) was a well known award winning dress and costume designer for film and stage. His filmography includes Return to Oz (1985), Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) and The Musketeer (2001). In 1977 he won an Emmy for “Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design for a Drama or Comedy Series” for “The Palliser” and has been nominated BAFTA TV Awards (The Far Pavilions and Prince Regent).
